Don't even try to do this to Al Macbook! Definite way to scratch the Al body and later get additional cuts on your hands - just as if it is a knife. Try to glue some extras -thin rubber instead.

Hi Aaron,

I have the MacBook (plastic), so I do not have any advice about whether or not to sand the aluminum Pro version. I am sorry to hear that the Pro has the same problem!

I have been thinking about doing this, but I'm very nervous about messing up my machine (I love everything else about it; and the chunk of change I paid for it makes me nervous to do anything to it). You had success sanding the plastic version or the aluminum version (MacBook Pro) ... I have the aluminum version. I should probably be able to tell from your photo but just want to confirm. Thanks!
